Promo Products For The Great Outdoors

Americans love the great outdoors, including 77 million households with at least one person who camps. Chances are very good a high percentage of your employees, customers, and business partners camp at least occasionally. This is a fact you can capitalize on with outdoor promotional items.

Camping can be an expensive hobby--at least 47 percent of adult campers spend between $51 and $200 on camping gear every year. Promotional gifts of useful, cool camping gear can improve your relationship with customers and staff, as well as expose everyone in the campground to your brand. With that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of camping gear essentials for your next promotional campaign.

Flashlights and Lanterns

Flashlights and lanterns are camping gear essentials--trying to navigate a campground late at night is a good way to trip over a tent’s guide rope. The following three products make excellent outdoor promotional items, and are likely to be used by gift recipients for years to come.

  • The Nite Ize Radiant 300 Rechargeable Lantern comes with an integrated carabiner handle for easy carrying or hanging. When set to low, this tough camping lantern provides up to 110 hours of light, while its ability to recharge reduces a camper’s reliance on batteries.
  • A Hand-Powered Flashlight doubles as both cool camping gear and a source of light during power outages. Squeezing the handle charges the flashlight, and two white LED bulbs provide plenty of light.
  • Capable of emitting 445 lumens of LED light, the Pelican 7110 Tactical Flashlight runs off a single AA battery. Upgrade to a CR123 battery and the flashlight offers up to thirteen hours of use on its low beam setting.

Camping Chairs

Foldable camping chairs are camping gear essentials for anyone who wants to sit back and relax after a day of hiking rugged trails. Camp chairs are ideal outdoor promotional items, with the back of the chair offering a large surface for displaying your brand.

Coolers

Coolers should be on everyone’s camping gear list--after all, food and drink are essential. Here are three very different types of coolers that are (dare we say it?) cool camping gear.

  • The Yeti Tundra 45 has a UV-resistant body that’s as close to indestructible as a cooler can get, with plenty of room for a weekend’s worth of camping food and ample space to display your logo.
  • The Venture Collapsible Cooler Bag is lined with PEVA, has dual web handles for carrying, and collapses completely flat when empty.
  • Planning a hike? The Adelene PEVA Lined Backpack Cooler will keep your drinks and snacks cool and close to hand as you explore nature’s wonders.

Radios

Camping is all about getting away from it all, so at first radios might not sound like camping gear essentials. A radio’s important, however, as it can keep you informed of sudden changes in weather and other issues that might affect your trip.

  • Lightweight and compact, the Solar Radio has an outdoor solar panel attached to the side, and comes with a lanyard, belt clip, and stereo earbud headphones.
  • The Fabric Wireless Speaker/Radio is a rechargeable radio with a play time of four hours when fully charged.

Tools

Campers tend to be an independent-minded group. When a guide rope breaks putting up the tent, a seasoned camper rolls up her sleeves and fixes it. The following tools may not be as  essential for camping as, say, a tent, but they are definitely cool camping gear that comes in handy in a range of situations.

  • The Leatherman Mut is a high-quality multi-tool with straight and serrated knives, pliers, wire cutters, bottle opener, files and screwdrivers.
  • The Kershaw Select Fire Knife includes a functional blade coupled with a 4-bit screwdriver set.
  • Sleek and simple, the Ladnon Folding Tactical Knife boasts a three-inch, stainless steel blade with fast-open locking action.

Outdoor promotional items add value to your customers' camping experiences and link your logo to an activity they love. Doing so builds your relationship with the customer while attracting attention to your logo--when people see cool camping gear, they want to know where the owner got it from.
